The story

It started on a Friday evening.

Since 2014

12 years of Friday-night software.

FriDev started in 2014, while I was working a full-time job. Every Friday evening I'd carve out a few hours to build the small, useful tools my friends and I actually wanted to use, the kind of software no one else would bother shipping.

Friday-night experiments turned into apps. Apps turned into millions of downloads. And the habit, ship something useful, keep it honest, never waste a person's time, stuck around.

Still indie

One developer, no investors, no growth team.

Every app on this site is designed, built, and shipped by one person. That means we can do the small things right. Native feel. Clear pricing. No dark patterns. No "engagement metrics."

If something breaks, you email me, not a ticket queue.

Principles

What we believe.

Edge devices are powerful

The phone in your pocket has a neural engine. The Mac on your desk runs LLMs locally. We use that compute instead of renting it back to you.

Local-first, cloud only when needed

Most software does not need a datacenter. When work has to leave the device, we land it on edge networks ~30 ms from you.

Friendly, honest pricing

Flat prices a normal person can afford. No per-minute fees. No usage anxiety. No surprise overage charges in your inbox.

No tracking. No data mining.

We do not run analytics on you. We do not sell anything to anyone. The thing you bought is the product, you are not.

Privacy by architecture

Data that never leaves your machine cannot be lost, leaked, subpoenaed, or sold. The strongest privacy story is no upload at all.

Works offline. Built for taste.

Airplane mode on purpose. Native apps that feel like the platform. We obsess over the small stuff because nobody else will.
